Kent police need to either explain themselves better or read the law - according to the reports the two naked men seen by the canal were a cyclist and a walker, no indication they were flashers.

Seems Apple is drafting in AI to seek out pictures of our naughty bits and blur them between sending and arrival. It's to protect the children (of course) but that'll mean it will be switched on by default.

This is the sort of thing that's annoying. Why do the police want to find this chap? The "report"mentions the inevitable "indecent exposure" but it's not clear if it's the police or the reporter saying this. He walked through the park wearing a rucksack - end of. And apparently wasn't seen by that many people otherwise there'd be all sorts of phone-cam snaps and footage to be seen.

We shouldn't be surprised, nor too quick to blame, the frontline police officer who doesn't know the law on public nudity - I'm sure they know the laws they have deal with day in, day out, but for most of them a nude confrontation will be a vanishingly rare event. Hastings police know the rules because Richard Collins has been there a while to educate them; Nottingham police know the rules but John Wood still appears to have trouble with them from time to time. By the nature of their work one would expect the police to be suspicious first, as long as they understand the error of their ways once explained to them; however forbearing people tend to be towards nakedness, I'm sure the general presumption is still that it's against the law in some way.

Detailed account in NaturistsUK on Facebook from Richard Collins about being busted while naked in Hastings (which he does a lot of) by an off-duty Met policeman. Assorted argy-bargy occurred, resolved by the local police turning up, explaining to the Met officer the error of his ways, and offering to make a formal complaint to the Met on Richard’s behalf.

The images of natives in blankets might have been down to the prurience of the image makers rather than the reality, though certainly some form of warming would I’m sure be required at times. The experience of us modern, temperate-climate dwellers might not be definitive, either, as when we go out in the cold we are adapting from our customary environment, whereas permanently naked peoples would not need such adaptation. Still leaves the question wide open, I think.

To me the programme smacks too much of the old seaside postcards or the "Carry On ..." approach to nakedness. I can't imagine anyone viewing the show then deciding to try life without their clothes.
