NAG’s campaign strategy is aimed at facilitating and normalising nudity such that naturists can live their lives as they wish without fear. As at January 2021 the following are considered as areas which present opportunities to further this strategy (in no particular order);
• To monitor and exploit any opportunities which may present themselves to influence public opinion and the law to protect and promote naturism.
• To support the structure and operations of the NAG London group
• A series of Hampstead Heath (London) picnics during summer 2021, possibly inviting some local journalists or celebrities along to try it, and to talk about it.
• An approach to some other park authorities in London, and elsewhere, to apprise them of the Hampstead Heath situation, and to lay the foundations for nude use in other appropriate parks.
• To use the NAG London model to establish local campaigning groups in other cities, with a view to getting freedom for naked use of appropriate park/lake space.
• To establish local naked walking groups to have naked rambling sessions in their areas, and to explain locally what it is all about.
• To establish local wild swimming groups, skinny dipping in places where it is appropriate.
• To establish local campaign groups in coastal areas to campaign with local authorities for recognition of some beaches as officially Clothing Optional.
• Support World Naked Bike Rides wherever and however we can. WNBRs, though not strictly ‘naturist’ events have done a lot to introduce the public to nudity, and to demonstrate that it is harmless.
• Continue to monitor the press and media, and correct any misinformation encountered, and to educate editors, journalists and others, both proactively and reactively.
• Explore ways to help educate police and the general public about the law regarding public nudity, with emphasis on the College of Policing decision aid, and the Crown Prosecution Service guidelines.
How far we can implement this strategy depends mostly on what volunteer support we get. It is planned that each of the bullet points above will be implemented by a volunteer project team dedicated to that task. Each team will be led by a volunteer who will also act as the link person with NAG’s Management Collective. Volunteers and project leaders do not need to be members of the NAG Management Collective, though they may be. Volunteers can be part of more than one project team if they wish. Could you be such a volunteer? Project leaders are especially needed.
NAG works entirely through its volunteers, and they are always in short supply! Volunteers are expected to exercise their own initiative, and to a large degree formulate and implement their own plans. NAG will give all the support and advice it can, but success depends critically on the volunteer teams own efforts. You don’t need to be particularly experienced or skilled. Everyone can contribute something, and you only need give as much time and effort as you wish. Please step forward and help take naturist freedom to the next level!
