The rules for this year have changed.. makeshift clothing is banned. I think the makeshift clothing last year was a production requirement before the contestants went into town. There are other changes this year.. the end point is also not in town, so there will be much less interaction with the public and more emphasis on survival style issues.. asking for help is also banned, so they will be sleeping outside in temp of around 10C.

I applied for this but only got through the first 2 stages.. news is they are probably filming the first episodes soon. There have been some changes, most importantly makeshift clothing is banned for the duration. Hopefully they won't talk about the law at all this time.

At the other end of the scale, in Guatemala, when the night temp drops as low as 25C (!) the security guards put puffer jackets and hats on!

I tried to engage with someone on a FB forum who claimed to be giving the 'moral opinion'. I wanted to point out that morality is subjective and a society's moral standards evolve. We are fortunate to live in a country where a majority now seem to understand that simple nudity is not immoral. This still leaves a large minority who feel the opposite and who are well within their rights to express that opinion. The problem now seems to be that some elements in the press are happy to voice only one side of the debate. Any negative press needs to be met with a strong but well argued response. Publicizing negative press articles in Naturist circles so that many naturists might write to the editor etc must help educate those in positions of influence to realise our side of the argument has most merit.

I just asked almost the same question about an article in the express...
As naturism increases there may well be more articles. I do think a separate area where press articles can be referred, whether good or bad, would be useful.

I'm not in a position to become part of any group.. surely it would be in all our interests to have an accessible record of press reports that have been complained about and a centralized way to report them for action?
Perhaps if this particular report has been subject of a complaint, could that be mentioned here?

I hiked in the lake district last autumn at 13C. After about 1.5 hours I decided it was time to get dressed. I could barely get my fingers to do my laces. My minimum for hiking is realistically 16C. Without the exertion of hiking it would be higher.

Is there a way for members to know which press reports have been complained about to the editor?

Very micro...
I use the Komoot app for hiking.. it has most public footpaths and can be used to record a walk and note highlights.. this can then be uploaded to the komoot server as either private or public. I uploaded a record with the heading of 'Naked walk to Kinder Scout and a brief description.. after 2 weeks it has received 2 upvotes...
Many locations apps like Google maps, tripadvisor etc can take reviews so just making a quick review using naturist phrasing of places you visit informs others and also informs textiles that naturism may be encountered.

Unfortunately I wont be able to be at the meeting, I'm going pretty much off grid for 3 months. The plan is to go on a walk with them, then organize a couple of walks for their members. I have another naturist walk guide engaging too. And the post has received more likes even after a couple of naturists posted appreciative comments. The best bit is most of the likes are from ladies, which is encouraging from a diversity point of view.

I just found this... couple of things.. did the INF April meeting happen?

I read the last part of the newsletter to say the INF would support naturists organisation's marketing through websites, but nothing to suggest naturism should be restricted to commercial or designated sites. The last para simply states the INF supports 'the right of freedom [from] clothing.'

Thank you for that in depth reply. How sad that a small minority can impose their ways on a society.. Birmingham has many more of Indian descent than Middle Eastern and India has a long established acceptance of naturist practices
 But you have to choose your battles I guess..

Ch4 seems to want to promote nudity but only in a search for viewing figures. As a lifestyle choice they have no interest. Of course if the made a programme about people doing ordinary things naked it would be deadly dull.. unless there was insightful and indepth analysis of the reasons people are naturists.. and the reasons some react so badly to the sight of a human being.

Does it have to be a 'protest'? Can a group of people not meet for a walk through a city? Not protesting anything, just exercising freedom. Then nobody has to be informed? (Never thought about this before, probably obviously to you guys!)

I appreciate London has the biggest turnout for wnbr, but Birmingham is more accessible for the rest of the country. Even city centre parking is affordable.

While there might be the odd bit of verbal abuse from the ignorant, anything more is unlikely... apart from the one Clayton incident detailed elsewhere have there been any worrying incidents at wnbr events?

In addition to a march, and because if a recent conversation I had with a new naturist who thought public nudity was only legal at designated sites or in organized rallies, may I suggest a small add-on? In order to better promote naturism as normal in wider society, small groups (2-3) might have even more impact.. so, as a lead in to the main March, some volunteers could undress say 5 -10 minutes walk away from the meeting point and converge so that a large area experiences a small amount of nudity simultaneously. This would give the impression that nudity by individuals is normal.

I like the idea of a naturist march, but agree with a  previous poster that Pride may not be a suitable name.. it is associated in the general population as an expression of sexuality.

Hi everyone,
I live in cheshire, which is surrounded by Facebook naturist rambling groups but not actually covered by any. My nearest, snowdonia and North Wales, didn't organize any walks until another  new member and myself got together recently.
So I simply joined my local textile group and posted this:
Hi everyone, thanks for the add...
I joined this forum to get some ideas and hopefully meet up with some people to go walking... looking back over this summer I can see there have been a few walking events posted, but for 1200 members I can only see a few made it to announced walks? I guess it can't hurt to have more people offering walks, so from next spring I will try to run a few.

If I were to plan a walk like this it would be in the 6-9 mile range over about 3-4 hours in probably north wales or the peak district.

A bit about me... I am retired from 30 years of working in Police Forensics. I have spent the last few years living on a boat and am back in the uk until travel is practical again. I did a total of 9 years in scouts, army cadets and territorial army and I have walked Machu picchu Peru on a 7 day route,  the lost city Colombia on a 4 day route and Keet Seel in the Navajo National Monument USA doing the 17 miles return in one day.

I am also an active naturist, so while clothing is legally optional everywhere, anyone wishing to disrobe on one of these walks would be gently encouraged and supported.

After 3 days I have 16 likes and a few positive comments (all from ladies ranging from 'I'll come' to 'each to their own but ill stick to my hot tub'.

So.. to promote naturism.. in pretty much any field really, just join a textile group and be open!

Well done! In my experience the police don't prosecute driving offences unless they see them.. we had a site meeting about an alleged offence with a police officer and the alleged offender who drove to the meeting. We later found out that he was banned from driving at the time. He wasn't prosecuted.
