Naturist Action Group Data Protection Policy
Policy StatementFrom time-to-time Naturist Action Group (NAG) is required to collect personal data related to supporters, volunteers and suppliers. NAG is committed to a policy of protecting their rights and privacy and will act in accordance with The Data Protection Act 1998 and, with effect from May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). As a matter of good practice, on the rare occasion that other organisations and individuals working with NAG, and who have access to personal information, will be expected to read and comply with this policy. It is expected that any volunteer who deals with external organisations will take responsibility for ensuring that such organisations also agrees to abide by this policy in writing.
Legal RequirementsThe Data Protection Act 1998 came into effect in March 2000. Its purpose is to protect the rights and privacy of individuals, and to ensure that personal data is not processed without their knowledge or consent. The Act requires us to register the fact that we hold personal data and to acknowledge the right of ‘subject access’ – registered users and volunteers have the right to copies of their own data. From May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into effect, which places more legal obligations onto data processors, and extends those placed on Data Controllers to ensure that any contract complies with GDPR. The regulation applies to any personal data that can be used to identify an individual person; for example: name, location, ID number or online identifier. Personal data that is given a pseudonym (key-coded) can also be included depending on the difficulty of linking that pseudonym with an individual person. Article 9 GDPR prohibits the processing of personal data relating to racial or ethnic origin, political opinion, religious or philosophical beliefs and sexual orientation among others, unless explicit permission is given. Other provision also applies.
Data Controller For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 and GDPR, the Data Controller is Harvey Allen (Deputy Admin) who, as such will determine the purpose for which, and the manner in which and the lawful basis, any personal data is, or is to be, processed.
Naturist Action GroupNaturist Action Group (NAG) does not have a membership but is composed of a management collective and registered directors of Naturists Ltd. It communicates with like-minded persons via social media (Facebook and Twitter), in addition to which there is a website that features a blog
Data Protection PolicyData Protection Policy The collected information that are covered by legislation and regulation are: first name, last name, user name and email address. The user name is not alterable and used as a display name on comments. With the exception of N A G management. It is NAG policy that NAG will not give, or sell, users’ real names and/or email addresses to a third party. From time-to-time, NAG will invite registered users to complete opinion surveys on a voluntary self selection basis. Information collected may include personal data relating to the respondent, including special personal data, and additional information on location and therefore affected by the Data Protection Act and GDPR. This information will be used for analytical purposes only and will not be given or sold to any third party without prior permission.
Right to Unsubscribe and be ‘forgotten’ If a user wishes to unsubscribe from the website and no longer receive notification of when new posts are published then a request, verbal or in writing, to the Data Controller is required and will be carried out within 28-days of receipt. In addition, if the user wishes to be ‘forgotten’, removing all comments the user has contributed to posts, the user should make this known by specific reference. This will be completed within 28-days of receipt of the original request. If this cannot be completed before the 28-days, the user will be informed and a new deadline not later than 28-days after the original deadline will be agreed.
Changes to PolicySupporters will be alerted to any changes to this policy via the website. These alterations may result from changes in legislation, or due to organizational changes in Naturist Action Group and/or Naturists Limited.
